Summary

This new series opens a new chapter in the Shannara legend. This is the story of the events before those described in The Sword of Shannara.

Here begins the chronicle of the Great Wars and the destruction of the Old World, the story of how one world was destroyed and another created.

This is the most ambitious project Terry Brooks has undertaken in his remarkable career, a series that will delight and amaze his existing fans and attract a whole new generation of readers.

Great and entertaining.

Another awesome book. Shame the rest of the series isn’t available as yet! Hopefully soon.

what goes around has been around

For those who have followed the earlier books it's Shannara all over again but earlier. Still good storytelling with parallel story lines.

I loved the book but disappointed that the other books in the series were not read by anyone

Terry Brooks is a great author

Armageddons Children is a great book. The best thing about it all is when your listening to the story you imagine the characters and where they are and the conditions that they had to live in, the struggles they had to endure a long the way. I strongly recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy.

Armegeddons Children

I like the way Terry Brooks is using this Series to bridge to other sets of his works. The references to the TWTV series although quite frequent are not enough to leave someone who is yet to read TWTV in the dark. My only gripe with purchasing this book is finding out that Audible have parts 1 and 3 but not part 2. Come on Audible if people are going to start a series in audiobook format they need to be able to finish it in audiobook format without having to purchase hardcopies in between.

On.. the Word and The Void

The link between Shannara and The Word and The Void is just made in this book (TWTV is another series by the same author) I found it a very interesting crossover and the cyclic nature of the cataclymactic future predicted in TWTV reminisces strongly of the end of the Elcrys and the Wars.. although I'm not sure if the TWTV is the future of Shannara or the past (TWTV is set in now in NYC)

Good Book

A good read though, though very different when compared to the normal fantasy shannara series, this is more sci fi fantasy set 10- 30 years from now!. It has lots of references to the word and void, a magic not used in any of the later books.
The reading is ok but I wish we could get one reader per series.
But still a good book

not at all like all the other books. set in 2018

I can't even begin to write how disappointed i am with this book. it is not at all like all the rest. it is set in 2018 in the USA! absolutely ridiculous to get rid of the magical world of fearie and the Omesfords.. it was just like any other book now, nothing special about it at all! incredibly slow starting.. no links at all to the shannara trilogy. a complete disappointment. I was obsessed by Terry Brooks books. loved them!! loved the world he created.. now we are just in the USA and there's been a disaster. so many books like this already. boring. disappointing. I better find another author to start reading now.all my other reviews have been 5 star! not this.

Not for me - sorry Terry!

Dont know if I am a snob but having an American narrating was just too much. I gave up after a couple of chapters and felt disappointed with the script. Not the type of Shannara fantasy I am used to and adore.
