When Ed Macy's career in the Paras was cut short by a brutal accident, he thought he'd never fight again. But joining the Army Air Corps gave him the chance to return to the front line. And when the army launched its attack helicopter programme, Ed was the first to sign up.

Good listen
Story good but bits missing from paper back version narrator was more of a robot some words butchered but that made me chuckle

WOW! Simply un-put-downable. A fantastic testement to the heroes that are in the combat zone and brilliantly written. The Author has a way with words and truly a man I would happily share a pint or two with, I have the upmost respect and admiration for them all

Great story and full of action if a bit short
A great story well told.
More info on the Apache may have been welcomed but the book is really centred around the "Jug Fort" action and the slightly strange, heroic yet slightly futile rescue.
Quite intresting all the politics that seem to be endemic in the realtionship between the Government and armed forces and the apparent lack of resources experienced.
Good book though, a bit short but well worth a credit.

Absolutely Fantastic
This is a great book that i would recommend without hesitation.
The action is fast paced and the information is descriptive.
I am ashamed to admit it, but I often found myself sat on the driveway, unable to leave the car, transfixed to the story.
The only criticism I have as a member of the Armed Forces is that the Narrator sometimes 'reads' an abbreviation rather than sounding out the acronym. This will bring a smirk to the faces of some, but does not detract from the story one ounce.

Fantastic
This book makes you feel like your sitting in the Apache during the action, Ed Macy captures your imagination throughout, having two of my nephews serving with 3 Commando brigade out in Afghanistan at the moment this amazing account really brings home the courage and determination of the men and woman serving in such a stunningly beautiful yet savage area of operation.

Fantastic Listen
Brilliant book & the narration is superb. Genuinely one of the best narrations on Audible I was drawn into the book so much I could picture being in the story.
Well written & impossible to put down & not binge!
