About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
'All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.'
When the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm overthrow their master Mr Jones and take over the farm themselves, they imagine it is the beginning of a life of freedom and equality. But gradually a cunning, ruthless élite among them, masterminded by the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, starts to take control.
Soon the other animals discover that they are not all as equal as they thought, and find themselves hopelessly ensnared as one form of tyranny is replaced with another.

A brilliantly performed version of Orwell

Adam’s performance imbues each character with wondrous personality and simultaneously expresses perfectly both the very serious aspects and the more darkly comic moments in the story.
I really hope DR Buckles continues narrating audiobooks and encouraging me to enjoy more modern classics in the future! ❤️
A really fantastic way to experience Animal Farm for the first time!

I guess I should review the book too. If you've read this before, you'll like this version. And if this classic has been on your to-read list for ages, strike it off ASAP. It's short and accessible to all - even younger readers (listeners) can appreciate it. You don't need to understand the history of Communism to understand the themes of class, power, and corruption, unfortunately as relevant today as ever.
Smashing
