Summary

Immediately after escaping Flotsam Prison, Salem finds himself in the middle of nowhere with the mad giant Chael and the teenage stowaway TJ. Salem’s mission is simple: find the Tears of God in seven days, or else his land, and the people residing there, will either be sold to a demonic lord or face death. The only things in his way are demonic Abominations, shape-shifting bison, murderous men, and the last remnant of an angelic choir. Salem pits everything he has, and everything he is, to hold on to hope and save his people.

No pressure.

While Salem risks his life, Vali and Father Grimm risk theirs, too. Father Grimm’s investigation into his old apprentice Rasputin leads him into a trap and into the heart of the last remaining Faerie land. Forced to survive the Wild Hunt, Grimm fights to stay alive while clinging to his last remaining connection to humanity.

Meanwhile, after the kidnapped children of Löngutangar are returned, the assassin god Vali makes it his personal mission to strike back against their enemies. The god collects his past sins and sets his deadly sights on Flotsam Prison.

Angels and the Bad Man is a work of adventure and pain, sadness and perseverance, redemption and hope.

Light snarkiness with a Cyberpunk religious tilt.

Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of the book free of charge in exchange for an honest review

Ok so I've come into this series at book 3 and so am missing all the historic links that others would have, but I admit that I didn't feel too cutoff from the past.

This is a really interesting setting, 2ith a world overtaken by hell and ruled by the supernatural demonic masses and yet has cyberpunk styles and magic. I felt like I was watching Harry Dresden's more polite cousin play a game of Cyberpunk at times and I really enjoyed it.

Salem has a mission to recover the Teats of God but has been embroiled in a situation involving indigenous American shapeshifters and a supernatural assassin who seems to have a Bond complex.

I don't think I've read anything as mixed since Torg The Possibility Wars and I found it really exciting and the battles super satisfying and I am now determined to go back to Book 1 and see what I've missed.

An Epic!

I have been a fan of MK Gibson for a while, but was a bigger fan of his other series (ShadowMaster) until now. This series has reached elite levels... the author and the series should be considered in the same company as authors like Jim Butcher and Richard Kadrey.

Im gonna go into the details of the plot, but if you read "American Gods" and thought the book moved a little slowly, you will love this book. It has so many elements of greatness:

- brilliantly written characters that you fall in love with and root for
- non-stop action
- philosophical conflicts that make you stop and think
- nostalgic references that make you smile
- plot twists
- Heroism
- drama
- humor
- and so much more

Its among the best books I have read in the last few years. Go get it!

The payoff novel

This is the payoff novel. Listen to the novels in order so you will have maximum enjoyment as this book richly rewards those that became emotionally invested in the first two books. I'm going to avoid all spoilers but the book was so good i became concerned for the health and well being of everyone involved. If book four never comes out there will be a hole in me that will never be filled. It's that good but only if you listen in order of publication.

Amazon turn this into a TV show!!!

This 3rd book in the franchise felt like an incredible third season for a tv show! Characters we've grown attached to have their backstories explained more in depth, and while introducing new faces it does an amazing job at re-introducing old faces.

For all fans of Sci-Fi with Religious-Esque Fantasy Definitely give this a listen!

like this one

Shadowrun meets Doom is how I would describe this series. Cybernetics and magic battle it out with the forces of Hell on Earth for the future of the planet.

Another great Technomancer Novel!

The Technomancer Novels continue with another great installment! This book has been my favorite so far; they keep getting better and better! M. K. Gibson did another fantastic job with this one, continuing to develop the characters, world, and plot. The humor is well balanced with the seriousness of the journey. Absolutely looking forward to the next book! Audio Version: Jeffrey Kafer continues to do a fantastic job with this story and each character.

Binged!

I've now binge-listened to 6 of Gibson's books in the past 2 weeks. (I started with the Villains series). His writing is not polished literature; rather, his style is actually a bit simple. BUT his characters are intriguing, well-rounded, and written expertly. His storylines are fresh and unique, and well worth the sleep I've lost because I couldn't bear to turn off my headphones and go to sleep without listening to "just one more chapter."
