About this listen
Human safety is a primary concern.
No other robot can rival the new Harrowgate & Webster models, which regularly demonstrate astounding problem-solving abilities and a virtually human level of awareness.
It is 2068 and humans are attempting to colonize Mars.
Recognizing the advanced nature of these robots, Patricia Vicarro, director of a Mars colonization project, has selected HWR-001-046-QF Andrea to send to Mars in the first of a three-stage project to build a colony.
Everything must be perfect.
Andrea spent nearly three years in isolation, preparing for astronaut Adam Copelane's arrival. He will be the first human on Mars and will join Andrea in building the colony pods for the third phase. Now, with everything ready for Adam, she watches the Martian sky eagerly.
But there are powerful people who would wish the project to fail. Adam's life will depend on the resourceful nature of Andrea, a robot that was only "switched on" five days before being launched towards Mars.
How far will Andrea have to go to ensure his survival? What can Adam expect from a robot?

Fascinating
I have read Andrea the Martian Robot as an e-book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The audio book lived up to my expectations. Andrea finds herself at the centre of a remarkable drama. The listener is drawn intimately into the awakening of Andrea's consciousness, which is portrayed as both innocent and yet wise, as well as swept into the vast majesty of the harsh Martian planet. The author did an excellent job of holding the listener attention - using science facts to make science fiction seem very believable. The performance was excellent also - so that Andrea's character particularly - was brought beautifully and poignantly to life. Definitely worth listening to.

A piece of Brilliance, Brilliantly read.
I previously read and enjoyed the text version of this story, so decided to try the audio book and so glad I did. The narrator choice is genius and brought the whole story to life better than I expected, with lots I had forgotten or missed the first time. .. Now I can't wait for the Main event, the audio version of the award-winning "Robots Like Blue".
