Summary
In Alaska, it’s always a white Christmas - but the sparks flying between two reunited friends could turn it red-hot....
If there’s one gift Erika Sheraton does not want for Christmas, it’s a vacation. Ordered to take time off, the workaholic surgeon reluctantly trades in her scrubs for a ski suit and heads to Wild River, Alaska. Her friend Cassie owns a tour company that offers adventures to fit every visitor. But nothing compares to the adrenaline rush Erika feels on being reunited with Cassie’s brother, Reed Reynolds.
Gone is the buttoned-up girl Reed remembers. His sister’s best friend has blossomed into a strong, skilled, confident woman. She’s exactly what his search-and-rescue team needs - and everything he didn’t know he craved. The gulf between his life in Wild River and her big-city career is wide. But it’s no match for a desire powerful enough to melt two stubborn hearts....

Rated X
If this book was made into movie it would be rated X. I enjoy a good love story, but I do not recommend this book.

CUTE STORY but TURNED OFF BY EXPLICIT SEX SCENES
This cute story reminded me of the Virgin River series TV show...and I really liked it! I love Alaska romances and this one delivered! I just wish that the love scenes were not so descriptive and explict...Takes away from the "feel good" of listening to this romance novel and makes it feel kind of trashy.

Hard to listen to.
Unfortunately the narration of this book is very hard to listen to. Hurriedly read with no enunciation or emotion. I tried to enjoy it but I have listened to a lot of books on audible and this is by far the worst.

Ok but has some issues
The love story between the two main characters is fairly decent. However, my problem with the story is that it was clearly written by someone who doesn’t understand Alaska. I was born in this state and have lived here my entire life. No self respecting Alaskan would ever refer to a snow machine as a “snow mobile”. That phrasing is very likely to get you laughed out of literally anywhere. Or mocked heavily for being a lower 48er. There was also some annoying mispronunciation of our cities. As well as a robotic delivery from the narrator. Also, the “long distance” the characters struggle with is like a 30-45 minute drive apart. In this state people commute longer than that every single day. Plenty of doctors do that as well because of the cost of living close to the hospitals here. If the main characters were people who moved here I could understand their issues as being more relatable. But ALL of these characters have supposedly spent their entire lives growing up in Alaska. Therefor, driving long distances would not be a problem for them because all of us are used to it. This makes the main issues they face difficult to believe. Overall, it was an ok read I just wish the author would have taken a little more time to do their research. Considering most of these places are real and it sets the entire scene for her story. Now if you don’t live in Alaska I doubt these issues and inaccuracies would bother you as a reader as much as it did me.

Very entertaining romantic tale
I really enjoyed this book, my first by this author. She painted a picture with her words about the beautiful Alaskan landscape, there were adventurous rescues, old friends reconnecting, people learning to change, built around sexy romantic times. Can’t forget the adorable puppy “Diva”. A highly enjoyable story that I would recommend. The characters make me want to get more in the series. Great narration by Melissa Moran.

More romance than Christmas
This books wasn’t particularly a Christmas story, despite the title. The story itself was okay, but the scenes that were supposed to be “steamy,” I found fairly cringe-worthy and not particularly sexy; it seemed detailed in a very matter-of-fact way, and was fairly off-putting, and didn’t really add anything to the story.

Fantastic listen!
One of my new favorite books and already listening to the second. I love that it had a little Christmas touch that made you want to sip some cocoa while you listened. It was the best parts of fun, sweet, sassy and romantic. 5 stars from me. I’m sure I’ll be reading more from this author!

Hard to stop listening
Loved it, I didn't want to stop listening. Normally I only listen in the car but this story I listened while sewing as well. I'm sorry it's over.

Cheesy love story
I thought this book would be more about Christmas/the holidays but it because a sappy love story/sexcapade. It was a decent story but a lot cheesier than I expected. The narrator did a good job but sometimes she sounded a tad robotic.
