Summary

THE HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED BRAND NEW NOVEL IN THE #1 BESTSELLING RIVERS OF LONDON SERIES

There is a world hidden underneath this great city....

The London Silver Vaults—for well over a century, the largest collection of silver for sale in the world. It has more locks than the Bank of England and more cameras than a celebrity punch-up.

Not somewhere you can murder someone and vanish without a trace—only that's what happened.

The disappearing act, the reports of a blinding flash of light and memory loss amongst the witnesses all make this a case for Detective Constable Peter Grant and the Special Assessment Unit.

Alongside their boss, DCI Thomas Nightingale, the SAU find themselves embroiled in a mystery that encompasses London's tangled history, foreign lands and, most terrifying of all, the North!

And Peter must solve this case soon because back home, his partner, Beverley, is expecting twins any day now. But what he doesn't know is that he's about to encounter something—and somebody—that nobody ever expects....

Effortlessly original, endlessly inventive and hugely entertaining—step into the world of the much-loved, number one best-selling Rivers of London series.

Discover why this incredible series has sold over two million copies worldwide. If you're a fan of Terry Pratchett, you will love the imaginative, irreverent and all-round irresistible RIVERS OF LONDON books.

Getting Stale

Not the best not the worst. Don’t think I can bother much more with this series.

Richer, deeper than ever. A fully mature series. Great stuff!

Very much enjoyed this latest novel. Then moves effortlessly across time in space, never letting go of the central threats. It’s always a pleasure spending time with Peter, Nightingale, Beverley and her wondrous family. Keep on coming!

Best Audible credit I have spent in a long time

Brilliant. I have read all the previous Rivers of London novels but this is the first I have listened to as an audio book. Not only do I think it's one of his best - multi layered, wryly knowing, funny and so creatively imaginative - the narration positively added to the enjoyment. As everyone else has said, I can't wait for the next one!

Another Great!!

As always Ben Aaronovitch does it again!!
Kobna’s narration brings the characters to life and never disappoints.
Another story where I can’t get out of the car until I’ve heard the next bit, and the next bit!!

Another great story and brilliant narration

I love the Rivers of London series and have read all the earlier books in the series so I was a little apprehensive about listening to them on audible but Kobna's narration is spot on and I'll be looking out for other books he narrates

Another Triumph

This does not disappoint. It takes the story on yet another level and includes great moments of dark humour.

Great series

Once again a great and wholesome mix of geekery, magic, police procedures and lovely characters… I feel increasingly strongly someone should make a tv series out of this…

Narration is absolutely amazing… I feel I could listen to an hours worth of phone book before getting bored…

Unstoppable

As all the Ben Aaronovitch Rivers of London books, this is an enjoyable romp with humour, intrigue, and excitement. Brilliantly narrated by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. I can’t wait for the next one but will listen again to this one before that.
