Summary
A sinfully sexy MM romance narrated in duet by Shane East and Joe Arden!
Lately, I’ve been full of questions. One hot summer night, I find all the answers when I kiss another guy for the first time. But he disappears, leaving me wondering who my mystery man was.
I can’t stop thinking about him. Even on the ball field, I’m daydreaming about his hungry hands, and the filthy things he whispered in his posh British accent.
Somehow, I still win one of the biggest games of my career, and afterward, the man surprises me with an invitation: “Meet me in a private suite.”
When I RSVP, he makes me an offer–one chance to try all the things I’ve never experienced. Then we’ll walk away. But once will never be enough.
Soon I’m locked into an intense lessons-in-seduction game with the secretive billionaire who keeps love at a distance, all while he pushes the boundaries of my brand-new desires.
Then, I learn that all my desires come with a terrible cost, as he breaks down the walls around my heart.

The billionaire and the athlete
Ooh. What to say. Gunnar and Rafe are combustible from the moment they lay eyes on each other in a nightclub, to their ministrations in the owners box at the ball field, to their tryst in a hotel room, to their shenanigans in a restaurant . 100% combustible. Exactly what I would expect from third baseman Gunner and the underwear king. Alas, a relationship is not on the cards. Neither one is interested, nor looking for commitment. Or are they? Lots of sexy time, a cute story, and red hot narration (in duet) from Joe Arden and Shane East. I love MM romance, and Lauren Blakely is my go to author when I need a fix. I loved it. Audio all the way. There is even a wonderful insight into Lauren’s up and coming book - Limited Edition Husband - narrated by Teddy Hamilton and James Joseph as Nate and Hunter.
I was gifted a copy of this audiobook, this is my honest review..

The electrifying return of #Eaden
Never have I eagerly waited for an audiobook quite this intensely but since I first discovered the unique and instantly addictive narrator combination of Shane East and Joe Arden, aka #Eaden, around 9 months ago from their first outing in Blakely's earlier book A Guy Walks into my Bar (AGWIMB), I have been literally marking the days off on a calendar until their return.
First off, I was not disappointed, not at all. This is After Dark #Eaden where they go full on aural seduction mode. If A Guy Walks into my Bar is the big sprawling epic love story full of emotions, this is the fast, dirty and intensely sexy affair which will turn you ALL the way on! If you like your romance delivered in audio, then you definitely need to get yourself a copy of this one. You know you are in trouble when you start listening and only on chapter 2 you are already giggling and smiling like an idiot at the deep gravely domineering tones of Shane East or the smooth confident cheekiness of Joe Arden.
Listening to this is a purely decadent experience where you can just lie back and let their voices caress you all over until you explode from the incendiary heat of this book :) It is a non stop, delicious escalation of sexual tension that only Blakely can deliver.
I give the story a 4.5 only because compared to her other MM stories this one does lack a little of the emotional punch of her others, like the epic Hopelessly Bromantic duet or, my personal favourite, The Boyfriend Comeback. But having said that there is still a lot here to enjoy.
We have Rafe Rodman, the dominant British Billionaire who locks eyes in a club with the young athlete Gunner Ford who is looking for the right guy to show him what it is like to be with a man. Cue intense flirting, several explosive trysts and an arrangement and you have one enjoyable ride. I think because the roots of this story were in a novella, it does have the feel more of a snapshot with the long delicious drawn out seduction back and forth but then there isn't much time to fully explore the tensions and reasonings as to why this couple are forcing themselves apart. It is unfair perhaps to compare to AGWIMB because that was a beautifully structured epic of a love story where you instantly got caught up in all the feelings and emotions of the characters as the clock counted down.
Compared to that A Very Filthy Game feels like a very passionate and intense hookup that always leaves you wanting to be let in just a little more. But as I said don't let that put you off, this audio will melt your headphones and the narrators are at the absolute height of their powers in this one.
I would recommend this to everyone who loves a hot MM romance and needs to experience (which really is the only word) the narrator power couple that is #Eaden. Buckle up, and stay hydrated!

This book is hot hot hot
This book is hot hot hot. It is fast paced and full of steamy scenes. I enjoyed every second of Gunnar and Rafe's story. Loved the hit dominant Brit and the sexy submissive baseball player.
The narration is amazing. Joe Arden and Shane East do the best job at bringing these characters to life, they have such amazing chemistry.

Nothing new
Shane east and joe Arden were great as always, but I didn’t enjoy the story very much. I’ve read or listened to all of Lauren’s MM books, and found they’re all starting to sound the same now, the same themes and lines cropping up over and over. The theme of control and submission came up in this one and Zane and Maddox’s story, but wasn’t really developed so still didn’t differentiate them. Lauren’s books used to be an instant buy for me, but I’ll probably think twice about the next one

5 STARS! Sexy & swoony billionaire/athlete MM romance!
Lauren Blakely set the pages on fire in A Very Filthy Game. An athlete just coming into his sexuality and a billionaire confident in his, Gunnar and Rafe are engulfed in an inferno of attraction from the moment their eyes meet for the first time. Gunnar is looking to explore this newly discovered side of himself, and Rafe is the man he wants to show him the way. Neither is looking for a relationship when things start between them, but they’re connecting on more than just a sexual level. When you add in some professional entanglements, things get complicated.
I listened to the audiobook version of A Very Filthy Game, and Shane East and Joe Arden were perfection. Shane East brought the British billionaire, Rafe, to life with his smooth-as-silk voice, and Joe Arden’s performance as Gunnar was a consuming blend of vulnerable and cocky. As heart-racing as it was heart-tugging, this was a complex, hard-fought love story full of first-times, fiery chemistry and swoony heroes. An absolutely addictive read, I burned through two pairs of Air Pods listening to this book! Five smooches from me for A Very Filthy Game by Lauren Blakely!

Love it!!
This book is really good! It's barely angsty and red hot as they quickly catch feelings. Shane East and Joe Arden, 2 of my favorite narrators, do an awesome job as usual.
Book=9
Narration=10
Extras=10
Extras include some pretty funny bloopers (who doesn't love bloopers? Seriously, I hope this is something that catches on with audio books 😁) and a sneak peak at Limited Edition Husband. Happy listening!!

Sizzle from the start!
OMG! A Very Filthy Game is written so well with great characters and backstories and so much passion from the very first page. A Very Filthy Game is Lauren Blakely’s newest MM romance. AVFG is about a cocky baseball player just discovering who he is and a British Billionaire intent on showing the cocky athlete all the pleasure he desires. Lauren Blakely is one of my all-time favorite authors. The characters are always amazing with heart, passion, desire, and quite a lot of rugged good looks. The between-the-sheets action is just so very HOT! Shane East and Joe Arden bring this super hot MM romance to your ears ladies! I totally suggest a fan while listening and hearing Shane East’s performance. He has a smooth, rich, and s**y voice both in the bedroom and boardroom. Joe Arden’s voice is super s**y as well especially extra s**y in the bedroom. These guys are fantastic together and bring Rafe and Gunnar to life spectacularly. Loved it and all the amazing feelings, passions, self-discoveries, and self-realizations. Loved it!!!

A Very Filthy game indeed!
This book was originally released in a serial fashion in Kindle Villa, it has been tweeked for a full story but still holds some feel of a series with a little telenovela thrown in.
This books follows 3rd baseman for the San Francisco Dragons Gunnar, and Fashion designed Rafe. Gunner has just figured out he is into both Men and Women, while he is out at a club with his friends, he spots Rafe. Rafe can't take his eyes off Gunnar while he dances. The spark and tension between these two just from looking is so palpable, I'm surprised the whole club didn't burst into flames. The first night they do not say anything to each other, but the next night when Gunnar goes back they finally meet. They have a sizzling conversation but end up going their separate ways at the end of the night. This leads Gunnar to leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, but posting a thirst trap on IG wearing nothing but Rafe branded underwear with a strategically placed emoji ;-) (Rooster emoji, perfect for Joe Arden. IYKYK). Rafe can't leave this siren alone, and starts one of the most explosive stories I have listened to in a long time. Because of his budding career, Gunnar can't risk loosing sponsors and with Rafe based out of London, the two decide a relationship would not work. But maybe one night would? Oh and Gunnar is holding a little secret that may make things a little different.
Lauren has outdone herself with this one. From the moment these two meet it's like throwing a match into gasoline...EXPLOSIVE! From the exquisite dirty talk, to the subtle touching, to the filthy purposeful touching, everything was so hott! This gave me vibes from her earlier series, The Exquisite series. What I really loved about these two characters, was their absolute need for each other, to the point that they didn't care if they were in public. They both had a little exhibitionist in them. Even with that, Rafe took care of Gunnar and would throw himself in the line of fire when they were caught in an intimate situation. That is a true testament of caring for some one. As it is in all LB books, there were mentions of other characters from other MM series throughout, We had Declan and Grant from the Men of Summer series, and Zane and Maddox from Turn Me on. All of which are stand alone and does not have to be read to read this one.
Who better to bring this marvelous story of Laurens to life then Shane East as Rafe and Joe Arden as Gunnar, or as they are most affectionately called together #Eaden. These two really compliment each other and read the book in Duet style. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Lauren, Joe, Shane or MM books.

Hot Hot Hot!
Wow. This one is top tier. Might be my new fav Lauren Blakely book, but I say that about all her MM books because they are all epic. This one is Strangers to lovers, with a little age gap. The pro ball player and the underwear designer get together with so much chemistry, heat, and banter. Virgin hero and some exhibition kink as the cherry on top. Loved this one! As usual the narrators are amazing at bringing the characters to life!

Safe & Gunnar are electric!
A Very Filthy Game is book 3 in the Winner Takes All series and absolutely lives up to its name in all the best ways. Rafe is a billionaire who, among other ventures, designs super sexy men's underwear. Gunnar is a professional baseball player and compulsive flirt eager to explore. Neither can afford to be distracted, but they find themselves caught up in each other from the moment their eyes meet across a crowded club and it’s game on with absolutely off-the-charts cravings. Leave it to Lauren Blakely to bring #Eaden (Shane East and Joe Arden) back together to deliver 7 hours of deviously delicious naughty games as Rafe introduces Gunnar to deep inner cravings he didn’t know he had. Shane and Joe narrate this one in DUET and it’s a beautiful thing! Shane really knocks this out of the park with that smooth, seductive performance that had me actually holding my breath a few times. Loved every moment! The bloopers are laugh-out-loud funny! The prequel of Limited Edition Husband with narration by Teddy Hamilton and James Joseph is the perfect teaser to make we really want Hunter and Nate’s story. Another excellent steamy MM romance from LB!

Rafe and Gunnar turn up the heat!
I loved that they cannot stay away from each other and the way Lauren writes these characters makes you feel every emotion. Her banter is on point, that's the hallmark of every Lauren Blakely book and why I keep coming back.
I enjoyed Rafe's dominating personality to Gunnar's sweet one. He always takes Gunnar's feelings into account no matter what they do. Constantly protecting him, which makes him feel confidant trusting Rafe with all his firsts. Rafe and Gunnar are absolutely nuclear when they get together. The sexy flirting via text message is so damn good too!
Both Shane East and Joe Arden know just what to do with Lauren's characters. Always making every interaction so smooth and seemless in their performances.
