Summary

2018 Dragon Award Finalist - Best Fantasy Novel

Centuries ago, the followers of the new gods defeated the old gods, and the folk of legend were banished from the world. With their departure, magic faded from the land. However, the Milesian Accords provided for a new challenge, and its time rapidly approaches.

The descendant of the druid who participated in the original challenge, Liam Knox, must forge the sword for the Champion to wield, and write the next set of Accords. Time is running out, though, and the minions of the new gods will stop at nothing to ensure he fails in his tasks.

The descendent of the legendary hero Cu Chulainn, Erin Donnelly, has gone to Dunos Scaith, a fortress out of time and space, to train for the Challenge to come. Interruptions and distractions abound, though, including the potential for new love...and she is being hunted as well.

Both Druid and Champion are running out of time as the Challenge approaches - a challenge that could end the world as we know it - and neither is likely to be ready in time. They must trust in each other and their friends...but what if that trust is misplaced?

Tempered smitten girl ???

a whole lot of childish crushes going on with precious little else, it's getting increasingly difficult to find a decent story without either harem nonsense or like this with unrealistic attractions or those awful litrpg piles of dung.

Started well, went down hill

So much focus on the champion being a non comital whore, and none of it adds to the story. Half of Erin's time in the book is spent with her trying to justify why it's perfectly fine for her to bed the pathfinder and her "friends" keep encouraging it. If you want me to completely dislike a person, they shouldn't be one of the supposed hero characters. If I wanted to listen to hours of someone justifying their sleeping around I'd get some single friends and ask them about their quarries.

About a man who has faith

It is a man who has faith and honor and a woman who has none.
I have never written a review on a book. Listened to the first one and now this one. Very disappointed in this one. What a shitty character Erin is.

I’m going to write a singles review

Author you keep say it was the apples fault not mine …. If seems if you drink to much and sleeps with another person.., its the booze fault right? … your a cheater it’s obvious by your story… try to mix cheaters and love together… or if your not then your a cockole or ntr person… which is what it is … lable your story accordingly… I bought your books because i wanted to believe in you but you let me down …. Just like you probably did to your lovers … books returned 😑

Who is the MC?

So I thought Liam was the MC but instead I have to listen to Erin crush Liam’s heart for an entire book?

not bad

it's not a bad story but I hate how the champion is a slut who can't keep her hands off the druid/father of her son and she makes it clear to the druid she doesn't want a relationship with him but gets passed off when other women takes a interest in him but she wants to screw everything that takes a interest in her it would be a lot better if Erin dies and Tim was champion

Yes!

Loved the narrator. I disagree with some of the other reviews talking about how the book is only about Erin’s love life. Not true! There is so much that happens with the story line. Really enjoyed and about to get the next book now.

Strong story telling and relationship dynamics

Very fun listen. Not as predictable as many urban fantasy. Great delve into non-traditional family and relationship dynamics.
