Summary

Her choice is to serve or die. In the aftermath of shattered innocence, will the hunt for her magic claim her last breath?

Zerina Redfearn is naïve to the world's cruelty. So when she and her sisters are dragged from their home and put on trial for witchcraft, she’s horrified to be trapped between being enslaved in the king’s forces or execution. But after witnessing her siblings' cruel deaths, she unleashes her powers for the first time and makes her escape.

Joining two refugees in fleeing to the perilous ocean with enemy ships in hot pursuit, Zerina wields her gifts against deadly threats even though each use torments her body. And as she pays an agonizing price by aging prematurely, she fears she won’t reach the cure seen in a vision before she perishes.

Can Zerina turn the tide on a crippling future?

A Sea of Sorrow and Scorn is the gripping second book in the Tales of Levanthria fantasy-retelling series. If you like dangerous quests, good girls gone badass, and relentless action, then you’ll love A.P. Beswick’s windswept adventure.

great story

maybe have the readers keep their respective characters. have 2 different readers be the same characters is a bit confusing

A letdown

it feels like two books bolted together ending with not much happening. The post script is the most interesting part.

Great book but awful narration by Michela.

God awful narration by Michela but the book is good. Aaron should just do all the narration.

Bad narration

The story is simple to follow and has a fer twists and turns. However the female narrator, Michela Shulthies is so bad that it ruins the story. Se narrates like she is askes by her teacher to read from a text from a textbook in 5 th grade. I cant belive nobody stopped and asked themself if she might not be the best choice.

great book

I love the way the characters grew in this book. Going from being in a normal mondain life to almost loosing thier lifes. Then, escaping and fleeing for their lifes. Taking a well in need of love ship. To docking up, finding a crew, and setting sail again. The main mmc and the mfc falling in love but not admitting it. Saving each other. Going through magical tests and trials. While looking after each other.

This is a book i would recommend to people to read.

Great story, Bad narrator

Loved the first audio book, and was looking forward to this one. Especially when I saw that it was the same narrator (Aaron Smith). However, it was short lived as soon as Michela Schulthies started narrating it went downhill. It took me right out of the story when you have Arron doing one voice and then Michela doing a completely different voice for the same character, not even vaguely similar. Why they chose to split the narration is beyond me. It spoils the flow of the story.
Plus like many people have said Michela Schulthies voice work definitely falls short alongside Aaron Smith's.
She really put me off the audiobook to the point I didn't indulge in it and basically ran through it. I am both looking forward to the future books but at the same time and begrudge to have to listen to her more.
please just use one voice actor in future, please.

Holy. F**k.

This has entered my top 3 books ever. Recently finishing Vanity and Valour, naturally I went straight onto the next book. Which has been one of the most intense books I’ve read ( listened too ). For some time! From the start to the wildly ending. This book kept me interested ever second of the journey. I can only hope that there’s another book added on to this one.

From the first moment you are gripped and invested by all the characters and relationships created by Beswick. To the point there was one or two moments in this book which made me well up, which has never happened as far as reading a book goes.
Can’t recommend this book enough. I now have the impatient few months till the next part comes out. GET THIS BOOK!
