Slow paced and Emotional!

A Love Song for Liars is the first installment in the Rivals series, a second generation series, and rock star romance. Annie and Tyler's story is well written and emotional. This is a great introduction to their story. Annie is Jax Jamieson's daughter from the Wicked series. She is sweet, kind, and beautiful. Tyler is enigmatic and handsome. They are both interesting characters. Their story is complex, slow paced and emotional. Looking forward to listening to A Love Song for Rebels, the next installment in the series. Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro did an excellent job with the narration. Looking forward for more in the series. #ValentinePR

The perfect start to Annie and Tylers story.

A Love Song for Liars is book one in the Rivals series and is the new adult, friends to lovers story of Annie Jamieson and Tyler Adams.
We first met Annie in the Wicked series when rock legend Jax Jamieson discovered she was his daughter and not his niece. Jax’s manager and sister kept the information from him for over a decade and he fought to have Annie with him and his wife Haley. Annie met Tyler when he joined Haley’s youth programme at Wicked Records, and they became fast friends and when she moved to Dallas with her family, she and Tyler continued their friendship long distance.
Annie now seventeen, has struggled acclimatising to life in Dallas and had a tough tine blending in at Oakwood Prep, the exclusive high school she attends. The place is a breeding ground for entitled, spoiled teens who thrive on drama.
Tyler is invited to Dallas by Jax, he offers to fund his schooling at Oakwood with Annie, the pool house to stay in and Jax will mentor and word with him on his music. Annie feels completely detached at home, between her dad’s focus on his wife and her new baby sister and his music projects Annie feels the only time he makes an effort with her is to control her. Annie begins to resent Tyler as he’s not only popular in school, but her dad is also taking the time to impart his knowledge of the industry he learned over more than a decade making music and touring the world. She hates the fact that Tyler (for the most part) is avoiding her and despite this she still loves him.
Tyler is glad to be away from his abusive father and cannot thank Jax and Haley enough for not only taking a chance on him but believing in him. So, when Jax asks just one thing of him in exchange for this fresh start, DO NOT TOUCH ANNIE, he agrees without hesitation.
Tyler feels he must keep Annie at arms length to stick to his agreement with Jax as he is so attracted to Annie, she’s constantly on his mind but he misses her and the easy friendship they always had but more than that, he wants to protect her from the mean girls that are causing her misery at school.
The phenomenal Rose Dioro and Teddy Hamilton take Piper Lawson’s words from page to audio and my goodness, I was captivated from start to finish. Rose’s performance as sweet, invisible, lovelorn Annie was amazing. Rose had me feeling so sorry for Annie, I wanted to befriend her, mother her, and protect her all at once. Teddy perfectly captured the lovesick, music prodigy. Teddy had me routing for Tyler even when I wanted to shake some sense into him. I loved this pairing together and am looking forward to seeing them carry this series through to its conclusion.
I loved this first instalment in the Annie and Tyler saga, it is a sweet romance filled to the brim with chemistry and an ending that destroyed me, I’m just so thankful I have books two and three queued up ready to go.

A Love Song for Liars

Tyler & Annie
Annie always had a crush on Tyler. It developed a great friendship and later love.

The story is well written. Full of hopes and dreams, tragedies and bully, love and lust.

Because the book ends with a cliffhanger, I can't wait to listen to/read the next one.

Can't wait to listen to book 2

A Love Song for Liars is book 1 of Annie and Tyler's story.

I have been wanting to read this story for some time after falling in love with Piper Lawson's Wicked Trilogy. I was not disappointed at all. I truly loved Annie and Tyler's characters and found their story captivating from the start. I'm not one who loves NA romances but felt this one was done very well and the storyline kept me intrigued throughout. It was a rollercoaster of emotions with some drama as Annie and Tyler navigate their friendship. As much as I wanted it all to be happy times I knew there would be some devastation with heartbreak since this is only book 1.

Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro did an amazing job with the narration and bringing the story to life for me, I felt like I was there with the characters and feeling every emotion. I can't wait to read/listen to more of their story!

Loved it!

I've only read one other book by Piper Lawson so I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book. I went in blind and I am glad I did. I didn't know whether to cry or scream at these characters. Annie and Tylers' chemistry was off the charts. The heat, the angst, and the push and pull between the two was intense. I was addicted and couldn't get enough!

The narration was terrific. Teddy Hamiton is one of my all-time favourite narrators and I always enjoy the books he does and I really enjoyed Rose Dioro too!

Excellent Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Emotional

I was a huge fan of Piper Lawson’s Wicked series and was happy to see she was not completely done with that world and did not leave it completely behind spinning off with a story about Annie, Jax Jameson’s daughter and Tyler, the boy and gifted musician he took under his wing.Annie and Tyler were good friends at one time, but the popular crowd in school took him in with open arms and Annie wasn’t. Tyler was a senior and she a junior, but he stood by and watched her get bullied by the queen and her following in the school, and we see the claws come out whenever she feels threatened. I was happy to see Annie hold her own to these witches, I was also happy to see Tyler step up to do the right thing, which only lasted only a short time, and that ending, wow, it crushed not only Annie, it crushed me too. This wonderfully plotted story is a great start to the series, the story lays down the foundation for the rest of the series, we see who these two are as people and the promise of their future and who they will become. Piper Lawson, thank you for this amazing story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Dioro grasped all the sides of Annie’s personality, her strengths, insecurities, and her determination to not get knocked down. Hamilton played Tyler with perfection, grasping his angst and well as his soft-hearted side for the minute he showed it. Both were great at performing the roles of all the secondary characters as well. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These superbly talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers, their narration enhances this amazing story to another level. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Love Annie & Tyler!!

I see Piper Lawson's name and I know I am in for a good story. This first book is so good as we get to know Annie and Tyler. Annie is a junior in high school, and recently moved in with her famous, semi retired rock star father, Jax. She remained friends with Tyler, even though miles apart, that is until her father brought him to live in the pool house and help him with his music. Tyler too is a junior, instantly popular, and things at school are not fun. Their tumultuous friendship is leads them down the road of missing each other, plus leads to greater feelings. But there is a bigger picture here, and is doesn't take much to change the tides. But is it what each one wants? I am loving the slow build this story is having. Annie has a lot to deal with. Not only a new family, but growing feelings for her best friend and horrible situations at school. Tyler tries to remain focused, knows Annie is hands off to him and needs to make a quick decision. I can't wait to see what the next installment gives us in their journey.

Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro are a fantastic team. Teddy falls into character as Tyler, letting us into his emotional turmoil and need to make his mark. Dioro has the perfect voice for Annie. Young, full of angst and passion, she creates a woman trying to find her way. These two are amazing and this is a great listen.

Aww

I am NOT okay.
Annie & Tyler are absolutely incredible. Captivating from the very first interaction.
The rebel prince & the misfit rich girl are definitely not what anyone would call a match made in heaven. And that is perfectly fine, because for Annie, they don’t need to be.
The turmoil on these pages held me hostage from beginning to end. Rooting for the two of them, for each of them individually.
I think I may have developed a slight girl crush on our girl. She’s far wiser than her age would suggest.
And Tyler, I don’t know if I want to love him or hate him.
I guess I’ll decide in the next one.

Young Love at its best

I first fell in love with this world in the Wicked series. When Annie and Tyler were given their own story to tell I couldn't wait to see where their lives would take them. This first book was beautiful and heartbreaking and everything you would expect from Piper Lawson. The narrators I think are perfect and capture what I imagined Annie and Tyler to be.

You can start this book without reading Wicked but you'll get a better appreciation of Annie and Tyler if you start there. I wish I could give it more stars

Get ready for all the emotions!

If I thought that the book was filled with angst and emotions…then the audiobook left me rocked! So many roiling emotions! That’s the thing with Piper Lawson’s stories…you’re going to FEEL. Gut wrenching, heart pounding, anxious…all of it!
I fell in love with Annie and Tyler all over again! They have so much against them, but I can’t help but root for them!
While the narrators were both good, Rose Dioro was superb! She embodied Annie so perfectly!

The Rockstar’s Daughter and Her Rebel Prince #bookoneloveandbrokenhesrted

This audiobook is the dual voices by Teddy Hamilton and Rose Dioro, making for an excellent performance! Their readings conveyed emotions that brought the words written by Piper Lawson alive. Piper Lawson beautifully wrote this story about a young girl falling for her friend she met in Philadelphia. At the time, her dad, a retired rock star and future stepmom Haley, ran a tour bus scouting for disadvantaged teens who had exceptional talent. Later, Tyler lived in the family pool house and attended her same private academy. Tyler and Annie is attracted to each other, but Annie's dad does not want Tyler to acknowledge his feelings to Annie. There are mean girls, bullying, being hurt, and betrayal, all found within the covers of this book. It does end on a cliffhanger, but the good news is you can immediately go read and listen to the next book in this four-book Love Song series! Each book will blow you away! Now I need to listen to book 2, Love Song for Rebels. Piper Lawson knows how to weave an incredible story that lives on in your mind long after you close the last page!

Great listen

It feels like I've been waiting forever for Tyler and Annie's story - but now that it's here, I'm not ready for it to end.
Much like with the Wicked series, Piper pulls on all your heartstrings with her poetic writing style.

“Our lives are the stories we tell about them. The stories we sing about them.... And our hearts don’t belong in cages. We’re meant to be fragile. We’re born to bleed.”

The emotion that bleeds from these characters is raw, unfiltered and consuming. I still have glassy eyes as I'm typing because damnit! It was amazing.

Annie - the little spitfire that she is - is so, so strong. The amount of stuff that gets flung her way is enough to put monkeys to shame. Seriously, how she manages to stay sane is beyond me. I would have gone all "crazy lady" on those spoilt little brats by now.

Tyler - broody, broken and beautiful - I can't even articulate how much his character calls to me. The little glimpses we get of his need for Annie are simply delicious. Their chemistry is undeniable, even though they try.

Teddy and Rose did a stand up job of narration.

These two will have your heart aching

Annie and Tyler have my heart aching terribly for them. If you have enjoyed this author's Wicked series, these characters will be known to you. If you have not, that is just fine because this series stands on its own beautifully. I loved this book so much. To start it is well written and nicely paced. The engaging storyline quickly captivates you and has you fiercely invested with its compelling blend of intense emotions, drama, angst, what seems like constantly increasing tension, sweetness, simmering chemistry, poignancy, twists, and some big questions that will have you desperate for answers and yet scared of what the answers might be. At first look, you are inclined to think that Tyler and Annie are polar opposites of each other. However, once you get to know them and get a much clearer picture, you truly begin to realize the similarities that they share, and you are left wondering whether those similarities will be their ruination or their ultimate saving grace. Love & family each play a huge role in this book and just like in real life, they are dual-edged swords that can be a blessing, a curse or even both at the same time. The author skillfully uses that in this book and also heavily foreshadows that there is plenty more to come on that front in future books in this series. Just in case you are not aware, this YA/NA read does end on a cliffhanger as this is only the first of the three books in the trilogy. So be prepared for that cliffy. I loved the narration on this book. The performances were stellar and the voices pleasing to listen to. The fact that dual narration was offered was a nice bonus for me because it is my favorite.

Rivals in the sweetest way.

Oh, Piper Lawson, you have done it again, with your new book ‘A Love Song for Liars'. I’m so in love with this story; I was on edge the whole time. Do you seem to love throwing my heart in the mixer?

May, is too far away, I need to know what happens next? You are the love master, and I hail your glories romantically tragically perfect.

XOXO Lottie.

What a start!

This is the first of four books about Tyler and Annie's journey and oh what a ride! Tyler and Annie's first book is set during their high school years as they discover they are the person that completes each other.

Ms. Lawson has weaved an amazing story of angst and heartache that leaves you begging for more. I can't wait for the second book! I can't wait for more heartbreak!

The narrators did a great job with this story. I was absolutely riveted!

This is a well written trilogy. I have to admit that I am almost finished with book 2. The narration is excellent, especially Teddy Hamilton. My only complaint is that each book is only about 6 hours, but still worth a credit.

omg... absolutely loved this!!

This is the story of Annie, Jax's daughter, and her best friend Tyler. We met these two in the Rockstar Romance series, and i was sooooooo excited to see what happened with these two.

Tyler had now moved to Dallas and lives in the Jamieson's pool house attending the same school as Annie. Except their friendship has fallen apart. Tyler had promised Jax never to touch his daughter and he's regretted it ever since since he knows she's his one. Annie has held a torch for him but thinks he is finished with her. This is a great story about young love... but it has a somewhat sad ending. Jax sacrifices himself for Annie except she just doesn't know it. The book ends setting up the next book and I CANNOT WAIT TO READ IT!!!

I received this book in audio form and it was amazing to have the narrators bring this story to life. They did a great job keeping the pace, interest, and story going perfectly.

I received an ALC for my honest review!

Piper Lawson has me hooked on Tyler and Annie's story!!! Your emotions will be all over the place and your heart will hurt!

Tyler is so bloody and Annie is such a spitfire, but they are perfect together!!

great chemistry

I tried to stay clear of high-school romance unless it’s clearly dark romances because I find I couldn’t relate to the naiveté and school drama. I picked up A Love Song for Liars because of the narrators. I liked Tyler and Annie’s YA enemies-to-lovers romance but I didn’t love it. I found the pace of the story too slow, the mean girl school drama was juvenile, and Annie’s doubt and insecurity were getting old. Tyler and Annie had great chemistry and I hoped that their story would get better as they age. However, I do not plan to continue with the trilogy.

Teddy Hamilton’s performance was excellent. Rose Dioro’s female voice was great. However, I didn’t like her male voice. Unfortunately, because the story was mostly in Annie’s POV, we got lots of annoying male voices.

I volunteered to provide an honest review of a complimentary audio copy of this book.
