The PDF was one of the best and fullest, it works best like a slide show as you listen, or you can look carefully at the pieces ahead of reaching them in the text.

As a book it covers a lot of ground and is interesting.

I have to admit that I did not like Ruth Ollman's narration. The text isn't easy so Millennial English is problematic. My brain is thinking "did she say 'used' or 'yeast', 'tout' or 'tight'?", etc, and in the meantime the text has moved on.

There are a lot of foreign words in this book, Including names, titles and concepts. The ones in Spanish she didn't do badly. The ones in French - it was fifty fifty. I couldn't get why she got some right if she didn't use the same rules for the next time that kind of word came up. As for German, I could just about work out what she was saying but my ears hurt.

I don't want to sound hurtful because her voice sounds gentle and pleasant enough, just not for this kind of text.

Good book, not surr about the narrator.
