And they were gripped and slightly terrified! I'd forgotten - having seen this story replayed in sepia tones so many times - that this is actually a ghost story. It's really quite a spooky one too when you've got all the moaning, screaming, chain noises and dying children in it. They really enjoyed it though. Well done Audible.
Oh and I could listen to Derek Jacobi narrating my shopping list. The man has an incredible voice.
