I received this FREE as a Christmas gift from Audible. I stuck in on in the car with my 8 and 10 yr old boys (Oh well, I thought, a bit of culture at Christmas) without really thinking about it.

And they were gripped and slightly terrified! I'd forgotten - having seen this story replayed in sepia tones so many times - that this is actually a ghost story. It's really quite a spooky one too when you've got all the moaning, screaming, chain noises and dying children in it. They really enjoyed it though. Well done Audible.

Oh and I could listen to Derek Jacobi narrating my shopping list. The man has an incredible voice.

I have read, watched and listened to many versions of the Christmas Carol, being my favourite festive story. This was by far one of the best. Not one word to say against it. Thoroughly engaging, thrilling and wonderful. Recommend to all.
