If, like me, you enjoyed the Darling Buds of May then this a really enjoyable sequel with the further adventures of Pop, Ma and the rest of the Larkin brood.
The most enjoyable part is Philip Franks easy, fluent recital of the story which really draws you in.

I've read H.E. Bates and watched the TV series. Having it on audio is just lovely and Philip makes it feel like you are there. Eating at the kitchen table, riding in the Rolls and on the beach with an ice cream.
Fabulous. Can't wait to start the next.

it's absolutely perfect! he seems better at doing the voices than the actual actors in the show! you'll be whisked away by what is in my opinion the best book in the Pop Larkin chronicles!
