About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Property might be theft. But the housing market is murder.
My name is Al. I live in wealthy people's second homes while their real owners are away.
I don’t rob them, I don’t damage anything… I’m more an unofficial house-sitter than an actual criminal.
Life is good.
Or it was - until last night, when my friends and I broke into the wrong place, on the wrong day, and someone wound up dead.
And now … now we’re in a great deal of trouble.
Featuring crooked houses, dodgy coppers and a lot of lockpicking, A Beginner's Guide to Breaking and Entering is a gripping thriller about what it's like to be young, skilled, unemployed - and on the run.

A Somewhat Accurate Depiction of British Undercurrents
I quite honestly forgot who the author was. I of course mean that with no offence but it was absolutely sidewinding to consider this from Andrew Hunter Murray. A thrilling, dedicated telling of a small fish perspective with plenty of little pessimistic scoffs at the larger pond. Believable characters, descriptive scenery and a fitting pacing. I will be reccomending this to friends and family.

Entertaining.
I got this as a Daily Deal the first Andrew Hunter Murray book I've listened to and I'd certainly read more. Well written with quirky characters. Al is writing his story in prison and recounting the circumstances that got him there. Very funny with some laugh out loud moments. Phil Dunsters narration was excellent.

Lots of fun
It stretches one’s credibility at times, I thought, but then I decided I was thoroughly enjoying it so what did it matter!
I liked the characters and the narration was very good.

Gripping crime comedy thriller
A well written crime thriller with some humour spread throughout. I found the characters to be well developed, and like a good whodunnit, kept you guessing up until the big reveal. I have read the author's other two books, and think this is his best to date. I look forward to any further novels. Knowing the author's podcast work, I had a wry smile when he included nominative determinism.
The narration by Phil Dunster was very good, perfectly suited for the style of story, conveying the underlying humour superbly.

Unique plot - loved!
I thought the other good reviews might have hyped this book up but I genuinely enjoyed this read. Really good alternative plot, made me laugh out loud a number of times and really likeable characters. Thank you to those people that put the positive reviews to make me spend a credit :)
