Wendy Sarkissian, PhD, LFPIA Wendy Sarkissian is a retired community planner, author, speaker, and facilitator who seeks spirited ways to nurture an engaged citizenry. She holds degrees in education, literature, planning, and environmental ethics. She has pioneered innovative planning and development approaches in a wide variety of contexts and is regarded as an authority on community engagement. Wendy co-authored three books with Earthscan/Routledge: Kitchen Table Sustainability, Practical Recipes for Community Engagement with Sustainability (2008) SpeakOut: A Step-by-Step Guide to SpeakOuts and Community Workshops (2009) Creative Community Planning: Transformative Engagement Practices for Working at the Edge (2010) She is co-author of the award-winning classic text, Housing as if People Mattered (with Clare Cooper Marcus, 1986).
