Wayne Jones is a writer, podcaster, and editor. He has published a memoir about his experience with personal minimalism, and its effect on his life beyond simply possessions (Less and Less); a mystery novel (The Killing Type); a biography (co-written) about one of the great standup comedians (Greg Giraldo: A Comedian's Story); and a biography about the 18th-century writer Samuel Johnson (My Sam Johnson: A Biography for General Readers). Wayne was born and grew up in Newfoundland. He has degrees from Memorial University (bachelors, English), the University of Toronto (masters, English), and Western University (masters, library science). He has worked mostly as a professional academic librarian, first at the National Library of Canada, and then at MIT (Cambridge, USA), Queen's University (Kingston, Canada), and Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada), where he retired as Director of the library. Wayne has published many professional articles and reviews, and has edited hundreds of non-fiction books, novels, articles, and a wide range of other materials for personal, corporate, and association clients. He founded and hosted the podcast Writing & Editing for two years and currently hosts the podcast Newfoundland Boy. He lives in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, where the window of his home office has a view of the harbour, the downtown, and the surrounding hills.
