My name is Valery Starsky and I am the Russian author of several sci-fi novels. In Russia, at the end of 2016, there was a literary contest held by Arthur Stone and his S.T.Y.X. series. Having read almost all the books written by him, and enjoying them immensely. I decided to take part and write a short story about that world. Once I started writing, I couldn’t stop and over the next few months, I’d written my first book, The Snake. As what I had written was based around S.T.Y.X., my book became rather popular with the readers, and I started writing my second book. When I was out walking my dogs one day, an idea struck me. As I live on the outskirts of Saint-Petersburg in the midst of real forests and wild nature, had a forest fairy put the idea into my mind? No one knows, but when I returned home, I began writing Transformation. I published the book on the same site as the contest had been hosted, and the novel became popular in just one day. In the beginning, both the readers and my wife encouraged me to continue writing The Snake and I couldn’t stop. Transformation was written in December 2017. I published the book in several of the most popular Russian self-publishing sites, and suddenly the book immediately became a best seller. It was #1 winner of the literary contests: RealRPG, Cyberpunk & Science Fiction in 2018 and is still popular in Russia today. During 2017 - 2018 the books in the series were read more than 1 000 000 times. There were hundreds of reviews, some giving thanks and the occasional crushing ones. However, there were no readers who stayed indifferent. A year and a half passed, and Transformation is now read all over the world. The book was released on Amazon in November 2018. It reached #645 Best Sellers Rank and #10 in Dark Fantasy. Now, it still holds a high position. I never could even imagine that I will become an author at 56 years. But I did it. Real magic... I want to say those men, who really loves books, maybe even dreams to write their own one - Do it! Sit down, switch on the computer and give a chance to yourself.
