SYLVIA WRIGLEY is a pilot and aviation writer who has been obsessing about aviation safety for over a decade. Her aviation books include her personal memoir, You Fly Like a Woman, the first detailed book released about The Mystery of Malaysia Airlines flight 370, and her popular aviation investigation series, Why Planes Crash. Her non-fiction has appeared in publications all over the world, including The Guardian, Piper Flyer and Forbes. She has appeared as an aviation expert for the BBC and on National Geographic’s Mayday. She has also featured in episodes of the Discovery Channel series Air Crash Confidential, the Russian Channel 1 news, French Channel M6 Disparition du vol MH370 and ntv.ru Central Television program. She is the creator and sole contributor to the aviation website http://fearoflanding.com/ which received almost half a million visitors in 2019 and continues to be a leading aviation resource. Her first aviation series, Why Planes Crash, launched in May 2013. The first book of the series covers eleven accidents and incidents in 2001, including the disastrous runway incursion at Linate, the near-miss over Tokyo, the Avjet crash at Aspen, the Twin Towers and American Airlines Flight 587 disintegrating over Queens. The series currently covers from 2001 to 2003. Her most popular series, Without a Trace, explores the true stories of aviation mysteries which have baffled investigators for years.
