When I write about Bees, I do so under my "bee pen" SUSAN KNILANS. My other books on nature and wonder are written under the name SUSAN CHERNAK McELROY, where some of them have been translated into 20 languages now. Marriage can toss a wrench into the whole name thing...sigh. So here I am, writing of the glory and wonder of Bees! As with all my other writings, I celebrate nature and all the others being who walk this earth along with us as teachers, friends, and helpers. How lonely would our world be without them? How can we deepen our relationships with them--all of them? How are we to make a friend of a spider or tiny beetle, or the possum who wanders your years eating ticks and grubs? How are we to learn to be in relationship with bees--a "superorganism" where 50,000 bees work as one? This is my life's work--diving deeply into these questions, and bringing my readers along for the inquiry and the enchantment. Join me!
