Ronnie Greene is an author and investigative journalist who is a senior editor for ProPublica in Washington. He spent much of his career with The Miami Herald before moving to DC, where his roles included enterprise editor with Reuters. As an editor and reporter, Greene's journalism has been honored with the Pulitzer Prize, the Harvard Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, an Emmy Award and two Silver Gavel Awards. Other projects were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. His book Shots on the Bridge: Police Violence and Cover-up in the Wake of Katrina (2015) earned the Investigative Reporters and Editors Book Award. He also wrote Heart of Atlanta: Five Black Pastors and the Supreme Court Victory for Integration (2022) and Night Fire: Big Oil, Poison Air, and Margie Richard's Fight to Save Her Town (2008). He has a master's degree in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches graduate writing.
