Raleigh Squires, aka Ralph Squirrels, is a native Nashvillian and a 40-year veteran of the Nashville music Industry. As a songwriter, his songs have been recorded by artists such as George Strait, Don Williams, Vern Gosdin, Mel Tillis, Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys. and Alison Krauss. The music business oftentimes forces aspiring musicians to seek income from other places. So, along the way, he spent time in politics, computer sales, and the newspaper business. But golf has been a passion from childhood and Raleigh was a master club fitter for Golf Galaxy in Nashville for the eight years. He left that job in 2020 to start his own business as a certified Tathata golf instructor. The birth of his alter ego Ralph Squirrels stems from countless phone calls from telemarketers who apparently had difficulty reading and pronouncing his name resulting in repeated requests to speak to “Ralph Squirrels.” Upon the birth of his grandson Jackson in 2011, his daughter Sarah suggested he write a story for kids called Ralph Squirrels Plays Golf. Voila.
