Louise Kirby lives in Surrey in the UK with her partner Simon and crazy family of five chihuahuas, collectively known as 'Team Chi'. She writes both children's fiction and also about dogs, or chihuahuas in particular. Louise is the author of the popular blog 'Chihuahuapower.dog' and has over 41,000 followers on Facebook. Non-Fiction There are now two books about training and looking after chihuahuas, with a third one on the way that will help owners deal with some of the less desirable behaviours chihuahua can display. The good news is even older chihuahuas can be turned around and become better companions! Anyone who has a chihuahua or two knows they are fabulous dogs but, they can be a handful. These books are dedicated to helping owners get the best out of their dogs and help deal with some of the behaviour issues that can lead to them being surrendered. Chihuahuas are still one of the most surrendered dogs in the US. Young Peoples Fiction Louise writes super-scary 'clean' fiction for young people. 'The Others' is a stand alone novel where we meet characters Freya and Addie as they battle against the evil Vivian and the ghosts of the 'Others' she serves. "I have really enjoyed writing my debut novel 'The Others', It has been tremendous fun getting to know the characters and seeing them develop with the story. Before you know it, they are rampaging through the story bossing you about. I'm also keen to promote the idea of 'clean fiction'. It is possible to write a good story without it being saturated in violence and death. We have to consider the effect on young people's mental health.'Read more Read less
