Latasha Jimerson was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1976. Her family moved to Southern California after she graduated from the Head Start program and Kindergarten. In 1994, she graduated from Vista High School as apart of the first graduating class to be in the AVID program. With the help of her high school principal, Latasha was accepted into a Historically Black college in Louisiana, which was her dream. In 1995, she met her future husband at Grambling State University, where she majored in History and minored in Criminal Justice. In 1999, she married her college sweetheart and started a family. After a short semester in law school, Latasha discovered that she wanted to be a teacher. She graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2001 and started her career immediately. In 2016, she started taking pieces from her diary and organizing it into a book. In 2017, she stumbled upon the self publishing opportunity with Amazon. To her absolute surprise, she quickly gained an audience of diverse readers. Her new passion is coaching new authors on their publishing journey. She loves to help other people realize their dreams. Today, Latasha has three daughters who she calls "boss ladies." They are the center of her life. She loves being a mom, a high school teacher, an author, coach, and professional speaker. In her spare time she likes to meditate, take long walks, and long naps.
