Joyce Owaga Mulama is an advanced practicing Registered Nurse in the USA. For over a decade she has practiced at various medical institutions and is currently based at the Veterans Medical Hospital in Columbia SC. She is also a home health care nurse and an educator, a talented and enthusiastic freelance public speaker and author of "Caregiving: The momentum of a Decision". In ‘’Caregiving: The Momentum of a decision”, Joyce takes us through her caregiving journey which starts at the age of seven. It is during this time of her life that she somehow stumbles onto her calling and what would later on become her fulfilling career. The book is an invitation to the caregiving table with the aim of encouraging those who are already on the journey, helping those who have just completed the journey or are recovering from the trauma it has caused them, and learning from the experiences thereof. Caregiving is universal. It transcends all ages, races and economic status. In the words of Rosalynn Carter, there are 4 kinds of people. Those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those will be caregivers and those who will need caregiving. Let that sink in for a moment!
