Intrepid Explorer of inner and outer worlds, Jo is an educator, a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, a student of martial arts, a certified combat analyst. She has worked in conflict zones including in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Iraq, Pakistan and Israel, as well as in many other countries. Jo is an avid hiker, swimmer and dancer. Most importantly she is a mother of a son and a daughter. Her late, ex-husband was a USAF PJ and then an international mountain guide. He and their son died on K2 in Pakistan in July 2013. Jo's non-fiction work is published in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Pakistan, Russia, India and Iraq (in English). Jo publishes her poetry and fiction under Jo Patti on a separate author page. Her non-fiction books are Traveler Between Worlds and Traveling Off the X. Her poetry books are Kismet and CLASH-Poems from Conflict Zones with artwork by her son, Denali Schmidt.
