Jessica Mendes is an Australian children’s book writer. Born and currently living in Melbourne, she is your 'typical Aussie girl' who has a love for dogs, sport, travel, family, wine and music. Jessica is the proud author of two published children’s illustrated books, "Wally the Whippet" and "Kay the Kelpie" which are both loosely based on imaginary tales of her own personal observations of the dogs in her life. Jessica is also the proud author of chapter book "Here if you Need" that tells the story of a young twelve year old girl, named Harper to who is trying to figure out life alongside her dog, Eddy, the Italian Greyhound. With a background in health & wellbeing, she has a strong passion for mental health and building and teaching resilience, through her three books. Her short, suspenseful read along stories for children and animal lovers alike will leave you wanting to read them time and time again, whilst they bring to light important lessons on resilience and not giving up when life gives you lemons and her middle school aged chapter book touches on the mental health concerns young girls face each day in relation to social media.
