Jennifer Alsever is an award-winning author and journalist based in Colorado. She is the author of five novels: Burying Eva Flores, Extraordinary Lies, and the Trinity Forest Series, which includes Ember Burning, Oshun Rising and Venus Shining. She is also a national journalist who has contributed to such publications as Fortune Magazine, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. In 2017, she published her first work of fiction, the Trinity Forest Series, (Ember Burning, Oshun Rising and Venus Shining). The award-winning young adult trilogy is set in nearby Leadville, Colorado and is about a girl who becomes entangled in a local forest teeming with urban legends of witchcraft and strange disappearances and must not only find herself but ultimately save the world. It has won five awards (listed below). In 2020, Jennifer Alsever published her fourth novel, Extraordinary Lies about two girls from vastly different backgrounds who are thrust together for psychic testing at the Stanford Research Institute. As the scientists’ experiments begin to get creepier, the two girls must discover the truth about who they are and the secrets that keep them in the dark. In spring 2022, she released her fifth title, Burying Eva Flores, an award-winning YA paranormal mystery about a war between two very different girls, Eva Flores and Sophia Palmer—a war that comes to a head when one of them is accused of murdering the other. The story is told with a mix of prose, documentary interviews, newspaper articles, text messages and more.
