A first-generation college student, Heather Frederick holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Brandeis University. She has been involved with doctoral programs for over 20 years teaching research design and statistics courses, chairing dissertations and doctoral projects, serving on committees, working as an academic reviewer, and facilitating both land-based and virtual residencies. She has held administrative positions directly involved with graduate education, including as a Graduate School Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Her journey took a turn with the unexpected passing of her children’s father. After a 5-year self-imposed sabbatical, she returned to the academy with a mission: to reform the way doctoral education is delivered and experienced. When she’s not working as a change agent, you’ll find her humming, walking outside barefoot, dancing to live music, dreaming about raising Nigerian dwarf goats, and making memories with her favorite people.
