Dr Erkut Sogut was born in Hanover, Germany and in addition to being an author, is a sports lawyer, sports agent and a professor for sports law & sports management. He holds a doctorate in sports law. His debut novel, DEADLINE, is the first in a planned series of thrillers which aim to shine a light onto the darker side of international football. He is the founder of the international sports agency "GROW - Rising Talents", the CEO of the educational company "Football Agent Institute", board member of the charity "BigShoe" and has co-founded "Unity" – a cosmetic company with a focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. He lives in Orange County, California.
