Emily Lavin Leverett is a writer, editor, medievalist, and English professor. She is the co-author of the contemporary fantasy faerie tale series "The Eisteddfod Chronicles" from Falstaff Books. "Changeling's Fall" and "Winter's Heir" are both available, and the third, "Traitor's Spring" will be out soon. Deor Smithfield, a changeling, must venture into Faerie to find her father because her fae magic is killing her in the human world. There, she meets Rafael Lord Farringdon, the king's war leader who is hunting for a killer--one who targets changelings. Suspicious of each other from the start, Deor and Rafe discover that their separate mysteries might have the same solution--but can they figure out the answer before it costs one or both of them their lives? She has co-edited several volumes of short stories including "Predators in Petticoats," a collection of 25 tales of female predators, and "Lawless Lands: Tales from the Weird Wild West," a collection of Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror stories set in the Wild West, both real and imagined. Other editorial work includes "The Weird Wild West," "The Big Bad" Volumes I & II, and the benefit anthologies "Chasing the Light" and "We Are Not This." She has also co-edited a volume of scholarly essays on the works of Terry Pratchett, "Terry Pratchett's Ethical Worlds" from MacFarland books. Her newest release is book one of "The Wolf and the Nun," a historical romance series set in 12th century England. The first book, "The Wolf in the Cloister" is out now. "The Enchanted Rose," "The Lai of the Black Wolf," and "An Honorable Love" will follow in 2021. Based on the life and fantasy stories of Marie de France, an English Nun, the books follow the fictionalized Marie, having just taken her nun's vows, and Viscount Bleiz Clavret, a Crusade veteran with a dark secret, as they uncover a demonic plot that takes them to Ireland, to King Henry II's lands in France, and eventually to the courts of the Fairy King and Queen. Emily lives in North Carolina with her spouse and their three cats. They are all avid Carolina Hurricanes fans.
