Emilee Hines was born on a tobacco farm in Virginia, graduated from Lynchburg College and has a master's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She has lived in Texas, Michigan and Kenya, where she taught at Machakos Teachers College. She enjoys traveling and has traveled extensively throughout the world. She has placed in the top three in writing contests for the following associations: Southwest Writers, Romance Writers of Virginia, Maryland Writers and Southeastern Writers. She was co-author of 7 volumes of Old Virginia Houses, is the author of It Happened in Virginia, Remarkable Virginia Women, and Myths and Legends of Virginia, all in their second edition; East African Odyssey, Burnt Station. Speaking Ill of the Dead: Jerks in Washington DC History, T'il Death Do Us Part (a self-help book), four romance novels, and a mystery, Shadows on a White Wall as well as over 300 articles and short stories. She writes from home in the mountains of North Carolina where she lives with her husband Jerry Liedl and her 16 year old cat Max.
