The author is a retired professor of mathematics from San Jose State University,formerly referred to as the poet in the Math Department. She began her writing career by by completing "Brad Pitt Won't Leave Me Alone,: by her late son, Shannon Hamann, an award-winning poet. Mom was thrilled her submission of his dark poetry collection, "Deathdoubledactyl" won Pavement Saw's Transcontinental Poetry Award. Her first novel, "Inhabited," combines her hometown setting with her favorite beach-read author making it Garrison Keillor meets Stephen King. Her short works have been published in a number of anthologies She launched her second novel, "Lower World" in November 2017, and is the first of a trilogy. The sequel is planned to appear later this year. No matter whether supernatural or fantasy her novels and stories contain characters loved by readers.
