October is Rocktober as Dave Warner's 12th crime novel `Summer Of Blood' goes centre stage. Set in California at the height of `flower-power' in the famous 1967 `summer of love' the story finds two Australian detectives out of their depths and their minds as they try to locate a missing Australian student who has tuned in and dropped out, seemingly in an acid-induced fugue of paranoia. But the more detectives John Gordon and Ray Shearer investigate, the more they begin to think he might not be so crazy and maybe there is a serial killer hiding in the wings of the Doors, Airplane and Janis concerts. The plot jags and snaps like a Hendrix solo as the two cops race to save lives and draw closer to solving one of America's most iconic crimes. Warner, winner of the West Australian Premier's Award for best Fiction and the Ned Kelly award for best Australian crime fiction is highly qualified to write a novel with a music background. A successful musician since the 70s where Bob Dylan declared him his favourite Australian music artist, Warner continues to write, release and play live. Dave is also a screenwriter whose films have starred the likes of Travis Fimmel, Kylie Minogue and Molly Ringwald. Dave Warner is a great way to get to know Australia, especially the more remote west coast. In 2015 Dave was named a Living Treasure of Western Australia for his contribution to the Arts. web: www.davewarner.com.au Insta: davew.author Twitter @suburbanwarner Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Dave-Warner-370719336278939/ Tik Tok @davesuburbanboy
