Scott is the Director of the Lewis A. Drummond Center for Great Commission Studies (www.thecgcs.org) and Assistant Professor of Global Studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (www.sebts.edu). Before coming to Southeastern, he and his family served in Western Europe and in Central Asia. for the past 30 years, Scott has traveled the world with the goal of helping people know the hope and joy that can be found in a relationship with Jesus. Scott is married to Lesley and together they have two adult children and a grandson. He frequently speaks and writes on issues of missions, spiritual formation, missiology, and theology. The first, Together on God's Mission, is an appeal for Southern Baptists to follow God's plan of cooperation in order to fulfill God's mission of reaching the nations with the Good News of Christ. The second book, Bondage and Freedom, is a resource for those struggling with pornography. The book discusses the many ways pornography harms the user and then it gives practical steps for breaking free. The forthcoming (July 2020), Sharing Jesus Without Freaking Out, 2nd edition, was written with Dr. Steven McKinion. This is a resource for those who want to share the great story of Jesus with friends, family members, or others, in ways that are winsome and conversational.
