Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains, Charlene now lives in the central mountains of New Mexico. After retiring, she traveled the United States as an educational consultant. Prior to consulting, she taught kindergarten through college classes and was a school administrator. She appreciates the wonders of nature and has an annoying habit of conversing with any animal she meets. The award-winning Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Anthology 2016 includes her short story, "The Inner Child of Henry J". Her international award-winning book, THE FLAPPER, THE SCIENTIST, AND THE SABOTEUR, set in Colorado, combines corporate espionage with family drama. "Readers will initially settle in for a standard mystery . . . but this story becomes much more complicated than a simple whodunit--it delightfully turns into serious literature." -KIRKUS, Starred Review Her second book, THE FLAPPER, THE IMPOSTOR, AND THE STALKER, set in Chicago during the Roaring Twenties, revisits the flapper as a young girl who, expecting to find love and happiness, encounters deception, betrayal, and death. "Madcap characters proliferate. Some are good and protective, but others are as dangerous as rattlesnakes, Fast-paced--scary and witty." -KIRKUS, Starred Review
