Hi, welcome to my author page! I love action movies (my books are FULL of one liners) and was mulling the idea of a female James Bond. What would she be like in our surveillance age? Winter is the result, but I have tried to stay faithful to the original idea of Bond with his louche, promiscuous ways. It is interesting to write this kind of female hero today. I hope I have found a way without crossing too many lines. Maybe true equality is discovering a small element of toxic femininity. Back in 2016, I was thinking about markets on the dark web. The city analyst in me was going: not very well organised, not very well laid out, no customer complaints process. And it made me think, What if you had a marketplace as appealing and well run as Amazon or Ebay selling murder and intimidation? Freely available (and untraceable). Would it be popular? Would anyone use their services? I sat and thought for a long time and came to the conclusion it could change the world. Everyone has someone they are afraid for, someone they don’t want hurt – ‘if you care, your enemies have all the leverage they need.’ The potential for coercive intimidation and control would be immense. This is where Winter’s world comes from. I would love to hear from you!
