Adam Dorr is the Director of Research at the independent think tank RethinkX. His team’s work has had a substantial impact on global policymaking, investment, and public understanding around new technologies in the energy, transportation, and food sectors. He is an environmental social scientist and technology theorist whose publications have focused on understanding the dynamics of the energy, transportation, and food disruptions and their implications for climate change. Adam is a passionate advocate for progress and data-driven optimism, and regularly presents on stage, radio, podcasts, and television. He completed his MS at the University of Michigan’s School for the Environment and Sustainability and his PhD at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs. RethinkX is a philanthropically-funded nonpartisan think tank founded by renowned technology thought leader and entrepreneur Tony Seba together with technology investor and philanthropist James Arbib. The mission of RethinkX is to facilitate a robust global conversation about the threats and opportunities of technology-driven disruptions, and to highlight choices for a more equitable, healthy, resilient, and stable future. To that end, RethinkX analyzes and forecasts disruptions and their implications in order to help policymakers, civic leaders, investors, and the public make better-informed decisions.
