About this listen
“What do you say, Jersey girl?”
He asked me that over a deep dish, a man I met at a wedding when I’d been trying to forget the epic disaster that was my life. He was too young, but I was hurting, sad, and recently divorced. Basically, the trifecta for bad decision-making.
Did I mention I’m divorced?
Because I am, and he made me laugh. God, did he make me laugh and I didn’t do that. Not anymore. My ex-husband stole something from me I could never get back, and my pizza companion was there to offer an alternative. A night with him to forget old wounds from the past.
And I’m totally not a terrible person because he was running from something too. We both were. Two strangers drowning in the sea of our own pain. He had a past and a woman he was trying to get out of his mind, and I had a trauma that needed the same prescription.
One night to forget all the crap and the people who came before. One night of rash decisions. One night with a beautiful man who made me smile. Made me laugh.
He’s in his 20s.
I’m in my 30s.
Ramses Mallick may prove to completely unravel me.
It’s only made worse that he’s my student.
Author’s Note: Lover is a NA age-gap, student/professor romance. Unlike the previous books in the Court University series, it is a non-bully romance and is recommended for listeners 17+ due to sexual content. It’s a standalone novel with no cliffhanger. It's also book four in the Court University series, which is a spin-off series about characters featured in Eden O'Neill's Court High books. Listening to the Court High books first is not necessary for the enjoyment of Court University. The characters origin stories merely begin in Court High and can be referred to at any time if the listener so chooses. Enjoy!

Be still my heart
I loved Ramses Mallick from the start, he was exactly my kind of guy. BUT I had no idea, I will reiterate I had NO idea how sad of a soul he was, the hurt and pain he has pushed down made my heart hurt. I love this man with my whole soul and was shattered at his pain.
Bri, my sweet sweet girl, I also loved her from the start, she instantly stole a piece of my heart and kept it.
These two together were phenomenal. I have all the love for them. I thought Royal and December were life, then came Ramses and said move over I'm here now. My goodness I could go on all day about him and Bri.
The love, the pain, the hurt, the secrecy.. It was so real and raw and emotional and I cried.. I admit it. I was heartbroken, and then my heart was mended and so full it was bursting with love. I loved this book so much I instantly reread it as soon as I finished it.
I loved Stefanie Kay and Michael Gallagher as Bri and Ramses, they were perfection in a beautiful package with a nice little bow.

Emotional end preparing for the next generation!
Ever since I read about Ramsey and Bri in Dirty Wicked Prince I've been dying to read their own story to find out more about them and hear how they got together. I started reading this world backwards beginning when Ramses and Brielle were already grow up and with kids of their own. They are easily my favourite couples in the Court Legacy world after Royal and December. Lover encompasses Ramses' character perfectly as he is definitely the most loyal, the most caring and the one with the biggest heart out of all of them.
The chemistry between these two was instantaneous and swelteringly hot but is still more of a slow burn as the author builds the tension between the two. Ramses and Brielle took us on a long, bumpy emotional rollercoaster ride that was so incredibly addictive that I listened to this story non-stop from start to finish.
The Court University world is so incredibly well-written, gripping the reader immediately and helping them to form connections with the characters as they listen to their journey. Coupled with the incredible writing skills are the skills of the two chose narrators who brought this amazing world to life beautifully. There were times that I felt like I was standing right next to the characters watching them, experiencing their lives together. I can't believe this is the last book in the Court University world because it feels like their lives are only just beginning and we haven't had enough time with them.

So so good
This was so good. I'm always going to rep for Forbidden romances, and this student/teacher OW/YM grump/sunshine romance was such a fantastic addition to my Eden O'Neil collection. The chemistry between Ramses and Brielle sizzled through the speakers and I cannot WAIT to inhale the entire series. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
