About this listen
Ellie is horrified to discover the pharmaceutical company she works for is doing illegal experiments. Company scientists have spliced human and animal DNA, creating exotic new species. One such "experiment" captures her heart and she’ll do anything to save him - even if he hates her for it.
Fury has never known compassion or love. He's spent his life in a cell, chained and abused by humans. The one woman he allowed himself to trust betrayed him. Now he’s free and set on vengeance. He vows to end her life but when she's finally in his grasp, harming her is the last thing he wants to do to the sexy little human.
Fury can't resist Ellie - the touch of her hands, her mouth on his skin, her body wrapped around his. He's obsessed with the scent of his woman. And Ellie wants Fury - always has. She craves his big, powerful body and wants to heal his desolate heart.
But loving Fury is one thing... taming him is another.
Reader Advisory: This story contains the heartrending aftermath of a rape scene involving a captive male. Another scene involves capture and forced touching by a hurt, vengeful Fury.

The first novel in the New Species series from best-selling erotic romance author Laurann Dohner is by turns suspense-filled, brutal, and steamy.
Ali Ahn, known to New York stage audiences and for her cameo work in television crime dramas, brings an urgency and tension to the story of nurse Ellie Brower. The pharmaceutical company employee discovers to her horror that the company is experimenting with the DNA of what have become animal-humans. That shock is replaced by infatuation with Specimen 416, which brings on first his hatred and then a mutual lust that becomes as much a part of their lives as an ongoing struggle to survive.

SO GOOD!
This book was so good - and so full that it could have be split to make a series on its own!

Loved it!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! Oh yes! The performance was beyond epic! The voices came through amazingly and it felt like I was there, in the story with characters. The sex was hot, communication was funny and sweet, and action was more than satisfactory.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fury?
Hmmm, I guess when Fury got all playful with Ellie in the kitchen, the chase was so cute.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I don't know, I loved it all.

Wild Fury :)
Fury is one of my favourite in series. He is hot and sometimes out of control . The romance started as toxic pay back but in time become a full on obsession 😍. I also like that this is first mix spices couple and how everyone is learning and adapting to changes .

3.5 stars
Tremendous start to a series, and much better thought out than most books in this genre. A bit too much of using rape as a plot device which seemed a bit lazy, and some of the characters seemed more like pantomime villains without much depth. Still a fun escapist listen. Similar to Breeds series by Lora Leigh, but I’ve listened to lots of both series and New Species is better overall and develops considerably as the books go on.

New Species..
Ellie goes in undercover to Mercantile Industries to uncover the atrocities of humans who have been spliced with animal DNA, for example in Fury's case canine, the subjects literally being treated like animals in a testing laboratory.
Even in her precarious position she has always been attracted to Fury admiring his quiet defiance from afar and to save his life and hers Ellie has no choice but to abandon him to punishments of her making. Fury feels well fury where Ellie is concerned and vows the next time he sees her he will kill her.
If you like Lora Leighs Breed series then you will like this, but no way is it a carbon copy of Leighs work, it is told in a completely different way. If you like your PNR, erotic, passionate, funny, at times edge of seat with an amorous male lead and a practical strong willed female go for it.
Ali Ahns brings all the characters to life, how she did all those different male voices I don't know, but I was able to tell the difference between all the characters.
I couldn't help but revisit Fury's story this time by audio and glad I did, a guilty pleasure that didn't disappoint, glad I indulged.

Entertaining.
Excellent book the action , drama, just keeps coming. It's a great start to a compelling story. Just how would we humans react to New Species? I think the author has hit the nail on the head, I might like to think we would act differently but I suspect not.....
