Lucia Franco is a new author to me and if it hadn’t have been for Sarah Puckett narrating I would have passed it over . I’m so glad I didn’t it’s so good Kova is a bit of a d!ck to Adrianna but you can feel the sexual tension from their first meeting. Be prepared to be sat at the edge of your seat , shouting at Kova and all other kinds of emotions this book brings out in you .

I had previously read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it but absolutely could not wait to revisit it. Sarah Puckett did such an amazing job bringing it to life and definitely kept me hooked!

I love this book! My opinion on Kova is very mixed so far and still can't decide how I really feel about him. His inner turmoil is obvious but that chemistry and tension is 🥵. Can't wait to see where this goes! And the cliffhanger! Diving straight into book 2!

Amazing start to the series

This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning all the way until the cliffhanger at the end. I love Adrianna and Kova and their messed up story. It is forbidden, steamy, and laced with sexual tension and conflict. I can't wait to continue on with the next book in this series. Sarah Puckett is an amazing narrator and does an awesome job with both the male and female characters. Her Kova voice and accent is pretty hot and sexy.

Kova and Adriana a taboo romance, brilliant writing, a great story, characters that you will simply love and enjoy, the world-building were good and I definitely need to read more by Lucia Franco. I got the audiobook version narrated by Sarah Puckett, she did a terrific job portraying the characters, her voice really made me feel the emotions, the editing was good and overall I totally recommend getting the audio, so good!

I want to strongly state that I am very uncomfortable with the romance in this story. It’s not really something I agree with. However, I have a lot of respect with the realism of the story itself. The author may not be happy to hear my take on this, but it’s my opinion.

Personally, I got really strong vibes of manipulation and grooming in this story. That’s why I say I have a great respect for the realism of the book. Not once is the romance glamorized or made to look appealing. It’s raw and it’s ugly. The guy comes off as a total predator in my eyes.

Another real aspect I’d like to talk about is how some of these girls push themselves just to achieve and obtain their goals. It’s really frightening to see. It’s even more scary to see them being pushed past their breaking point. Our main character, Arianna, basically starved herself and obsessed with everything she put in her body. She was working out and training ten hours or more a day for six days a week. Not only did she not need to cut back on her diet, but really she should have added to it!

All in all, this could be turned into a Lifetime movie or television show. I’d probably watch it. I get that people are upset about the content of this book. I agree. I just ask that they maybe see it from a different point of view.

So I loved Lucia Franco's Hush Hush series so I was excited about this book.

I didn't love the story as much as I thought I would. I understood the reasoning for it but I didn't like naivete of Adrianna I know she was only 15 but she seemed to be a little too naive. She should've known how risque and unconventional and taboo the relationship was. I know I had "feelings" for older men when I was younger but I knew better than to act on them.

I didn't like Kova and his manipulations. I felt like he was a prime time predator. I didn't like it..

I know some people are fans of taboo, and I am as well but this one didn't sit right with me.

My first age gap read and wow I loved the entire series listened to the first 3 on audible and read the last two. Sarah the narrator is one of my favourites if not my favourite she really brings the story to life. Even days after finishing this series can’t stop thinking about Kova and Ria. My first Lucia book but can’t wait to read more

Incredible wow just wow!

Book 1 of the Off Balance Series.

I was so involved with this book and it filled me with so many different emotions. The book is very detailed in the writing and all of the characters are well defined and distinctive.

I want to hear more of all of them, especially Adrianna, Coach Kova and Hayden.

Lucia captures such realistic moments between Adrianna and her peers. As well as showcasing her budding friendship with Hayden. At times I was so disturbed by Kova’s treatment and conversations with Adrianna that I was shocked and wanted to throttle him yet Adrianna is so smitten with him and I really felt for her. The ending of this first book is jaw dropping and makes you want to dive into the next instalment right away. Hopefully it’s not long until we get the next audiobook.

This is taboo and while Adrianna is only 15 at the start, she turns 16 soon afterwards. She’s also very independent, self sufficient and used to taking care of herself. She consciously makes the decision to be with her older coach so please don’t read it if this premise bothers you. If you do enjoy dark taboo romance then you will be fully engaged by this book. If you read/listen going in, know it’s a dark age gap taboo story and don’t condemn them! after-all her parents are also very far apart in age so it isn’t unusual for her to be attracted to Kova.

Sarah Puckett is extraordinary in this audiobook and I’m in awe of that performance here. She plays the innocent Adrianna so wonderfully that you become her, feeling all of her emotions right along with her. And Sarah’s Russian accent as Coach Kova is superb, it’s like hearing another narrator doing all of the male characters and to me that is real acting. So if you fangirl hearing Sarah Puckett like I do, this audiobook will amaze you.

Can’t wait for more in this story. Definitely 5 huge stars. 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 or headphones if you hear the audiobook like me.
