The Noble Quran, literally meaning "the recitation", also romanized Qur'an or Koran, is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from Allah SWT (God). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature. The Quran is divided into chapters (surah in Arabic), which are then divided into verses (ayah). The Noble Quran assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in the biblical scriptures. It summarizes some, dwells at length on others, and, in some cases, presents alternative accounts and interpretations of events.

Surah al-Fatihah (Arabic: سُورَةُ الْفَاتِحَة ‎) is the first chapter (surah) of the Quran. Its seven verses (ayat) are a prayer for the guidance, lordship and mercy of God. This chapter has an essential role in Islamic prayer (salat). The primary literal meaning of the expression "al-Fatihah" is "The Opener," which could refer to this Surah being "the opener of the Book" (Fatihat al-kitab), to its being the first Surah recited in full in every prayer cycle (rakʿah), or to the manner in which it serves as an opening for many functions in everyday Islamic life.

دائمًا ما نسمع عن موسوعة الدكتور عبد الوهاب المسيري حول اليهودية والصهيونية فقد اعتادت الصحف اليومية نشر ما يكتب من مقالات وتحليلات يوميًا وأصبحت كتبه في علم السياسة وعلم الاجتماع والأدب تدرَّس كمنهجٍ في الجامعات ولم يكن مفاجئًا أن يحصل المسيري على جائزة الدولة التقديرية في الآداب فقد سبق وحصل على جائزةٍ عالمية عن مجمل أعماله وكان المسيري قد كتب سيرته الذاتية قبل موته في كتابه الأشهر: "رحلتي الفكرية في البذور والجذور والثمر" ليأتي هذا الكتاب ويربط هذه السيرة والرحلة الذاتية بفكره ومفاهيمه حول أمور الحياة المختلفة.

لا يُقدّم العقّاد في هذا الكتاب سردًا لسيرة حياة عمر بن الخطاب، وإنّما يُقدّم وصفًا لأطواره، ودلالةً على خصائص عظمته، واستفادةً من هذه الخصائص في علم النفس، وعلم الأخلاق وحقائق الحياة، كما يقول في مقدّمة الكتاب، ولم يمنعه صغر الحادث من أن يقدّمه بالاهتمام والتّنويه على أكبر الحوادث، إن كان أوفى تعريفًا بعمر، وأصدق دلالة عليه.

بعد حياة حافلة بالعطاء استمرت ما يقارب تسعة عقود، اختار الراحل الكبير الأستاذ أنيس منصور صديقه وتلميذه، الدكتور مجدى العفيفي، ليأتمنه على ذلك التاريخ الحافل وذلك التراث الثري، فكان الرجل على قدر المسؤولية وأصدر مؤخراً كتابه المتميز"آخر 200 يوم مع أنيس منصور" فى 550 صفحة، تحمل كل منها ما يستحق أن يكون كتاباً فى حد ذاته، حيث غزارة المعلومات وانسيابها، والبلاغة فى التعبير وإبداعاتها، إضافة إلى تعدد جوانب الغوص فى الشخصية وحكاياها، من السياسة إلى العاطفة إلى الصحافة.
