The Day America Died!

A nuclear EMP attack would shove the USA back 150 years. Death, chaos, and lawlessness would prevail.... Zack Johnson is no hero, but he does have some valuable prepper skills to help him survive. There is nothing like a nuclear apocalypse to help a man grow up and become a hero as he helps his family and friends survive. He is 2,000 miles from home; the grid and all modern transportation have failed. The country is degenerating into violence and dog-eat-dog scenarios. People are killing their neighbors for a scrap of moldy bread or a sip of water.

The Day America Died: New Beginnings. This novel explores what could happen if North Korea, Iran, and a few of our other enemies join together to destroy the USA with air burst nuclear weapons to create an Electromagnetic Pulse that would destroy our electrical grid and most electronics. The USA would immediately be plunged back to the 1850’s. Most people would die within the first six months. Zack Johnson is no hero; in fact, he has been lost since his divorce, but he does have some valuable prepper skills to help him survive.

Zack is still recovering from his loss and trying to prepare his friends and family for the challenges of surviving in a new world full of danger and criminals around every corner. They meet a lot of good people and run into some dangerous "old enemies" in this post-apocalyptic tale. 

Zack and his team started over after being driven from their homes to a hideout in the woods. The USA was attacked with nuclear EMP weapons, has no power, and food is in short supply. It is now mid-winter, and while Zack and his friends prepared for survival, many of their neighbors are cold and starving. A corrupt mayor has taken control of the food supply and only doles it out to his supporters.

Zack and his team started over after being driven from the USA to an island in the Caribbean. The USA was attacked with nuclear EMP weapons and has no power. Food is in short supply. It was mid-winter when the USA was being invaded, making life in the USA questionable at best. Zack's team decided to flee the country. The island they chose is paradise, except it's run by a benevolent dictator, and they must choose between safety and freedom. Will Zack and his followers settle for safety, but lose their dignity and freedom? What can Zack do to lead his team to solve the dilemma?
