Molly

Molly wakes one morning to find her house empty. Her father has been out fishing in stormy seas and hasn’t returned from his trip. She takes her most precious possessions down to the harbour; a brass locket containing twenty little cowrie shells, a photograph of her father and her beloved doll to offer the sea in return for her father’s safety.

Molly and Dylan wake up one morning to find a whale washed up on the beach. Molly’s dad shows them how to care for the whale as they wait for the tide to come in. Molly sings to calm her, while the children and their friends work together to keep her cool and wet. But will they manage to help the whale back into the sea in time?

Molly wakes in the night and something is wrong, very wrong. The lighthouse outside her window has stopped flashing! Without it, how will her father, out night-fishing in his little red boat, find a safe way into the harbour? Molly needs to get the light working again… and fast!

Molly and her friends are suddenly plunged into a lockdown and have to adapt to a new way of living. Molly completes jigsaws, plays her fiddle, and looks after her pets, whilst her mother helps others on the island and her father is stuck far away on the mainland. With a vaccine on the horizon, this story ends with a message of hope.

Molly and her dad rescue three people in trouble from a small boat off the coast. Though they speak different languages, the new arrivals quickly make friends with the islanders, who offer them somewhere to stay and some clothes and food.

Molly’s fisherman father makes her a little dinghy and teaches her to sail. Soon Molly is scudding over the waves, with a pod of dolphins leaping all around. She helps the dolphins when one gets tangled up in a fishing net. But what will happen when it’s Molly who needs help?

One day, Molly’s dog Gus goes missing and the whole island community begin to search for him. Molly and her friend Bo hear a noise coming from the pirate cave and decide to follow it. As they head deeper and deeper into the cave, Molly and Bo finally find Gus... but the tide begins to rise. Will Molly, Bo and Gus be able to make their way out before the cave fills with water?
