Darkness cannot claim what Light does not surrender.... But sometimes it follows you home. There are portals opening to realms far beyond the fields we know. Not since the Black Plague has Death taken so many lives across so much of the known world as has World War II. There is a Cosmic Balance. Such an ocean of shed blood and thunder of anguished screams have opened Doors behind which Beings have been impatiently waiting to be released. Veterans from WWII have returned to Los Angeles and New Orleans thinking they had seen the last of Hell. They were wrong.

You might also find Rind, the Angelus of Death, already waiting for you. Meilori's is that kind of club. Its owner, Samuel McCord, is that kind of man. The man with the blood of Death in his veins, who finds some small measure of peace in easing the pains of others, though he cannot ease his own.
