A New Breed Series

It all started with a storm, a real gully washer, the type that comes racing across the plains with driving rain, howling winds, and hail as big as your fist. But a wedding celebration provides the cover for Frank Jakes' young daughter Franny to be kidnapped by a young man known only as Jack. Unless Frank and his family can do something fast, the terrified girl will be sold to the Comanches as a slave. Frank and his family must turn once again to the only man who can help: Frank's new brother-in-law, rugged mountain man Roy Scuggins. 

Charlie Goodnight hates being charged a toll on every head of cattle he drives over Raton Pass, so he hires Roy Scuggins, a famed scout, trapper, guide, and explorer, to find a way around Raton Pass.
