The Roman soldiers are much scarier in person - and suspicious of strangers. Then, a mysterious man riding a black horse gives Jack and Annie some advice to help them on their mission.

The Magic Tree House whisks Jack and Annie back to Colonial America. They arrive just as General George Washington is planning the crossing of the Delaware River. Before they know it, Jack and Annie are in a boat with the Father of Our Country as history is made!

But before they can say "Boo!" they rush headlong into an adventure filled with horse thieves, a lost colt, rattlesnakes, and a cowboy named Slim.
