  • Summary

  • Harper McKenzie wakes to the worse possible day: her 18-year-old son has vanished from her Manhattan apartment without trace.

Worse, no-one knows what she’s talking about.

No-one thinks she had a son.

    Ever.

Has she lost her grip on reality?

Or has the world shifted in a terrifying and unpredictable way?

The Effect is a taut psychological thriller that challenges everything we thought was real, as Harper’s quest to find her son pushes her to the very edge of reason.

no ending

I enjoyed the production so much but it didn't end....as if the ideas ran out so you're just left with no resolution..disappointing

Panic!

excellent narration. Slightly confused
story line initially. Unnecessary bad language which I don't appreciate

The Effect

I was really impressed with this series. It was dark, scary and plausible. I became totally invested in the characters and basically binge listened in one hit.
I would highly recommend this book.

A great listen

Unexpected twist at the end of this story that makes you guessing all the way. I hope this podcast will continue.

Poor ending - ran out of steam!

I liked the first few episodes, but the dénouement was ridiculous and the story just stops midway. Presumably the writers let their imaginations run away with them and couldn’t bring the plot back to anything vaguely believable!

A good supernatural drama

Worth a listen. Good acting. Good story. Good plot twists. Breathtaking drama at times. Recommended.

One of the best scifi stories i ever listened to.

intringing from the start and totally addictive. great performances from the cast and the story is awesome fitting into a specific genre within scifi which i wont name as it would be a spoiler. but its that good.

if you love anything to do with the current mystery about the Mandela Effect youre going to love this story and the explanation to the enigma.

this should have been a movie as it already feels like one. this was one of the most cinematic theater of your mind audio books i came across recently.

absolutely recommended even if you need to buy it to listen to it.

outstanding scifi work.

Powerful depiction of a virtual reality!

The story developed episode by episode until the truth was finally revealed in episode 10. Excellent idea and thoughtfully produced and dramatised. However I marked it down because of frequent use of F*** word and irreverent use of the name of Jesus. I know that the post modern world thinks that these things are okay (no I'm not a prude!) but the storytelling would have been equally as good without this.
