On December 13th, the Church commemorates and celebrates St. Lucy of Syracuse. While St. Lucy is not as well known in America as she is in Europe, still hers is a story about the martyrdom of a girl at a young age. Over the centuries, her story is filled with as much legend as it is historical fact, and led to many Christian European celebrations and traditions that may have be wrapped up in our own Christmas celebrations here.

Christ the King will be gathering for worship for the first time post-flood on Sunday, December 15th. Since we are unable to gather for midweek Advent services during this time, we are republishing the midweek Advent Series on "The Songs of Advent" from 2020.

While recovering from flooding on June 22nd, Christ the King will be worshipping with and at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer until we at Christ the King can return to our building. In the meantime, since First English uses the three-year lectionary, that is what we will use as well.
