John Arena is a founder of Metro Pizza in Las Vegas, along with his cousin Sam Facchini. They left New York and moved to Las Vegas, in a borrowed car, to start a small pizza business back in 1980. Since those early days, they started The Pizza Olympics (1984), The International Pizza Exchange (1987), The World Pizza Spinning Championships (1990), and The National Pizza Hall of Fame (1999). The guys recently had the pleasure of visiting with these two via zoom. Much discussion of football in the SEC and how passionate and crazy fans can be over their teams. They compared it to the fan base in the Wild West as well. Hopefully, Southern Nevada sports fans will maintain great support for the new teams we have recently had to join our city.
